Grading scale clarification

Given a scenario where first quarter is 87% and second quarter is 92% with the semester combined average of 89.5% - would this be a certain B? no rounding up past 0.5?
I told DC they are going to need at least a 93% minimum to get an A. DC says 92% may do it. Who is right?

I’m certain 89.5 = A, as my DC did that once. But I’m not sure if 89.4 would be A or B.

Is your DC going to figure out how to do just enough to get exactly a 92%? What does that even look like?

In the past, 89.4X was B. They did not round to 89.5 from the second decimal. It should be, however, that if you have 89.45 Q1 and then 89.55 (or higher) Q2, you should reach 89.5 and get the A. But they have not been this specific (to the general public) on how many decimal places go into the average, and how it all will work.

They've been rounding 89.5 up to an A.

Nobody knows!

My kid thinks 87 and 92 get to 89.5 and it is an A. But even our principal did not know.
