Just started my first dose of 2.5mg 6 days ago. Have mild constipation but other than that hasn’t been bad. The one thing I’m experiencing in the last 2 days are body aches. More so at night and mostly my legs but I have an Overall mild flu like feeling. I’m taking magnesium and drinking atleast 100oz of water per day. It doesn’t look like it’s a common side effect. If anyone else has experienced this, what helped? When did it pass? Nervous about my next dose tomorrow.
Are you in the Reddit forum? I've seen others report that side effect there and that group is super-knowledgeable.
Op, body aches was my primary side effect also. It went away after about two months. Agree with PP that the subreddit has good information for someone just starting the medication.
To be clear the body aches did not last two solid months. For me they only lasted about 48 hours each time I had a shot and focused on day 2 and 3 (or so) post shot.
Electrolytes really help with all of my symptoms. With or without sugar depending on what I feel like. Make a big 40 oz water with a packet of Liquid IV every morning and drink the whole thing.

I’m on Zep haven’t noticed this.
Now Wegovy was a diff story |
Yeah, I am on zep and I get muscle aches (kind of like having the flu) for a few days after the shot. But only on doses higher than the lowest dose (2.5). On 2.5, I don't get them.
Yes, I had this, more so after the first injection, almost like a bruised feeling when I pressed on my arms, legs. It went away. I had done semaglutide before and my side effects have been much much milder than with that.
What did your doctor say about it when you called them to discuss?
Yep, I get them. Like others said, usually they're worse for a day or two after each injection or when I'm adjusting to a new dosage.
