10/30 Board of Ed meeting

Looks like they are talking about releasing new boundary options in November to reflect the possible use of Crown as a holding school and possible closure of SSIMS? https://go.boarddocs.com/mabe/mcpsmd/Board.nsf/files/DMXHZX4AFC3F/$file/Rev%20Boundary%20Study%20Scopes%20251030%20PPT.pdf

Montoya is shut out of information from MCPS but Silvestre gets personal meeting.

Taylor to Montoya STFU

So if scope of boundary study changes, how much more are we paying FLO?
Anonymous
And if Crown HS is not opening, is there still a rush to conduct the boundary study with the enlarged scope when only Woodward needs adjustment?

Who cares? Tons of cash. Taylor has a bottomless pit of cash.

We are moving forward with the regions at least.

It's Taylor and Silvestre. She runs the show. She's behind it all and has been. She needs to go. She's toxic and self-serving.

That's why the BOE is moving over to the County Council to ensure it.

If crown is not opening as a school there needs to be some commitments made as it was supposed to help relieve some of the overcrowding in Upcounty schools. And Damascus expansion was already pulled from the CIP last year and now Taylor is proposing a rebuild that will rot be complete before 2032.

It's a sad feature of democracy that elected officials care more about keeping their jobs than doing their jobs.

Was there discussion about this in the meeting? Anything of note?

BOE not allowed discussion. Yang makes sure of that. River-Oven doesn’t even bother to show up.

It’s mostly Montoya expressed her anger and opposition and Yang tried to stop that.

Maybe she’s angry at the lack of transparency from Yang and central office. I’m sure we’d get an interesting story is someone made an MPIA request especially since two board members are running for county council.
