Languages at Takoma Middle

What languages does Takoma Middle offer? Are there advanced classes for kids who already speak the language?

French and Spanish, both offered at 1,2 and 3.

Spanish has 2 flavors, I think. One for native Spanish speakers and one for those (relatively) new to the language.

I’m thinking about kids not going to SSIMS under the new proposal and whether they could offer an advanced French.

No courses advanced enough for those already fluent. My kid is waiting until high school and taking orchestra instead. It works out since they dropped an elective for the magnet kids.

I think we’ll have to see where French immersion is relocated. I have wondered if TPMS would offer advanced Spanish for the Rolling Terrace kids potentially rezoned there.
