Guys help me out... I have two 40 V Black and Decker battery for my weed eater (trimmer) and both are not charging right. They both worked fine last season, but this year, they both having the same issue. They don't last no longer than 3 min. Some background:
- both worked fine last season. - when i plug them in the charger, green light blinks for a few seconds then red-light blinks - multi-meter shows one 38v and the second one 36 v. - i am assuming it's not the charger even though I have no way of knowing it. - tried YouTube dead battery repair but no success (not sure if I was doing it right either). Do i need to get a new battery? or is there a way to salvage what I have? TIA |
Red light usually means battery is too warm. Charge them indoors in the kitchen where it is cooler and fire isn't a big issue, such as on the stove top or inside the stove. (Always possibilty of Lithium batteries exploding in flames.) Don't charge right after use. Limited battery life is a big reason many people avoid battery powered devices. But it should last longer than 1 year unless you have been improperly charging them and ruined them. |
