How is Old Navy & toddler sizing these days? I am looking at long-sleeved t-shirts and PJs, and there are no customer comments regarding whether items are running large or small. Anyone have experience? I have some 2T clothes (not Gap or ON) that are small on my 20 month old, and other items that look like they could fit a couple of 3 year olds in there. Thanks!
Old Navy clothes seem to fit my daughter (who's tall and skinny) about a size smaller than Gap clothes. I've had good luck reading customer reviews for both sites online - certain things seem to fit bigger or smaller on a range of kids and that's helped me cut down on returns.
Look at sizing charts (height, mostly for pants or dresses) and order in multiple sizes; return the ones that don't fit to the store with receipt. I do it all the time without a problem.
Old Navy is REALLY small on my dd. She is on the bigger side, but she's 28 months and wearing 3t-4t in Old Navy. Gap seems to fit her better (2t-3t fits).
My twin boys are in 75% for height and 50% for weight (so slightly thin and above average height. They turned 2 in July and old navy size 2T fits great at the waist but a tiny bit long (which is okay b/c Im hoping length will last the winter season)
ON definitely fits smaller than Gap.
Agree with 13:03, Old navy is REALLY small on my DD, she's 2 1/2 and I buy 4T or even XS tee-shirts especially are small. Gap she's a 3T, perfectly. Boys sizes are more commensurate. weird
ON is definitely smaller than Gap. DD is 3 and still wears 2T t-shirts from Gap but wears 3T in old Navy.

OP, For jammies I'd go up two sizes. I buy my 18 month old size 3years Gap pajamas, he wears a 2years in regular Gap styles. Try to peak at the tag and check out the weight, then whichever weight your DC falls into, go up a size. That's what works for us.
My 3 year old is 45 pounds and wears a 5 years at the Gap. The clothes do run a little small and there is usually shrinkage. |
Weird, I have found that ON fits about the same as Gap on my DD who is 2. She is 50 percent for weight, 75 for height, but she has a long torso and shortish legs I guess. She is mostly 3T (tops are looser but longer) and 2T for pants.
