Then let us work. We didn't ask to be furloughed.

Probably not legal.

May be an attempt to encourage voluntary resignations.

That's not what the law says. The law says "each employee of the United States Government or of a District of Columbia public employer furloughed as a result of
a covered lapse in appropriations shall be paid for the period of the lapse in appropriations"

How about Congress can’t leave the building until they come to an agreement? It’s not like they haven’t had this budget since March. Lock them in and throw in some sleeping bags. They shouldn’t leave until they’ve done their jobs.

When did this administration start caring about what is legal?

Gross. Russel Vought is the worst human being. Meanwhile when I flew into Dulles, TSA workers leaving their shifts were exchanging notes on which soup kitchen they could get a hot meal since they're not actually getting paid.

God bless America.

Congress are the ones who should get no pay for not doing their jobs.

Why do you bother commenting if you have no clue what you are talking about? There is a law. It clearly doesn't say that.

I know, right? No one has even missed a paycheck.

From the article -

"The 2019 back pay measure—which Trump signed into law—explicitly stated that it applied to any employee furloughed during “any lapse in appropriations that begins on or after December 22, 2018.” Previously, Congress had to affirmatively pass legislation after each shutdown to ensure furloughed workers were retroactively paid. "

The White House is preparing legal arguments for why this only applied to the 2019 shutdown. I think they don't have a leg to stand on, but as is usual for this administration, they will fight in the courts legless until enough judges slap them down.

And the Supremes aren't exactly working for the people, right now.

And they should not get paid and should also not get back pay. The cleaning crew should get overtime.

After 3 days, turn off the temperature controls. How do you think the Constitution got written so fast? It was hot AF and everyone was wearing wool indoors in July. No more AC or heat. GET IT DONE.
