I saw somewhere that essays are not scored in the process? Is this true? If so, then what's the point??

I don't understand what you are trying to ask. The committee reads the essays and decides who to admit.
You are imagining something complicated that does not exist. |
| They want students with demonstrated interest, and this is the part of the application that allows for that. The selection committee is expecting students to explain how their interests and activities align with the program. |
