Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| What happens next? |
| This is it. Sup will pick one out of the 8 options, recommend to BOE, and BOE will vote in March, 2026. There might still be small tweaks between now and then, and your voice is still important if you want to be heard. |
These new options seem to be a big FU to the DCC so I really doubt my voice matters |
|
A totally new option can be recommended or one of these 8 options.
That's what MCPS had said earlier. |
NP - also a DCC parent - I feel similarly (that it’s a big middle finger to us). I’m skeptical that us speaking up will matter, but I’m also going to try. There are a lot of us here and, contrary to what many people think, a lot of parents who care about our kids’ education. |
How is DCC specifically be FU? Is Einstein getting hurt again (on top of the regional program analysis) or other schools in DCC are also negatively impacted? I'm not following the 20-page in another thread but am genuinely interested to learn. DCC has many schools and had been vocal in the past, so I bet they will voice out. |
+1. The superintendent doesn't have to choose one of the existing options. He can create a new version of any of them with some tweaks. Also, board members are able to propose their own alternative options, if they don't like the superintendent's recommendation. |
Can you share the specific issues. Our DCC articulation looks the same in these options. |
