Hello-- Im a director in my fortune 500 for 10 years. I have a special expertise, say italian cooking, that isnt being used in my current role that focuses on, say chinese cooking. I looked externally for a promotion role on italian cooking and am now on the 3rd stage of interviews. The story I told (which is the truth) was that I am eager to move back to italian cooking.
Now my current company decides to go into italian cooking and transfers me to italian cooking. I just started this week. If my goal is to get the external role to offer me the best possible compensation, should I let them know about my transfer to italian cooking in my current company? Or is that a red flag that I am looking to move from my company even when I am getting the work I want to do? TIA!!! |
