It should have happened months ago. Everybody who can afford to, needs to stop going to work. Reduce purchasing to the bare minimum. Cancel travel plans. We have been in lockdown mode before, and we can do it again. Delete meta and X accounts. Cancel Disney+ and Hulu. Stop watching ABC and CBS.
But also, peacefully protest in large numbers everywhere these politicians can be found. Don’t let them go a single day without being surrounded by protesters wherever they go. It needs to be relentless but peaceful. The mega-wealthy need to step up, including celebrities. They need to stop spending and stop showing up for work too. They are the ones who won’t starve if they stop going to work. They are the ones who would have a stronger impact if they stop spending. We keep wringing our hands about how horrifying this is, but we aren’t doing anything about it collectively. The No Kings protests are great but not enough. We don’t have to live like this. |
