Is 36 and 41 too much of an age difference?

The man being younger?

5 years is fine.

Depends on whether either wants kids. 41 is pushing the limits of fertility so that the woman might want to try for a child right away. The man might not want to head straight into having kids and prefer to wait a couple of years. Conversely, he might want kids and be pushing the woman to try before it's too late while she might be more ambivalent.

So, it's not really the 5 year age difference. It's where the 2 of them are right now. If neither wants kids, then it's unimportant.

Anecdotally yes. In my observation, in longer term it usually is a problem when woman is >5 years older. Infertility and infidelity being major issues.

I would think a man who chooses to marry an older woman is less likely to cheat on her no?

Yes, her looks will continue to decline and he will ultimately find someone else in their late 20s/early 30s. I have seen this happen before.
