Price Inflation

Is it me or does it seem like homes that just a few years ago would have been in the 2M range are now in the 3M range. A million $ difference for new contruction

Home values / land values went up + material costs went up + labor costs went up + business operations costs for builders (insurance, trucks, lunches) went up.

50% appreciation over the past five years is pretty common for SFHs in Bethesda.

Two large older homes near me in Potomac sold last year. Both owners by time done spent one million to renovate.

Costs are insane today

You could literally build the junk OP posted above for not much more than $1m. Builder profits and land costs are high as are realtor fees.

I have so many questions about the first one. Why would you ever put carpet next to a kitchenette? And am I wrong, or would that corrugated-like tile in all the bathrooms be a pain to clean?
