MegaLAXfest Middle School Recruiting Event

DD is starting the process of applying to different private schools.

Does anyone have experience with this event?

Any feedback to share as to whether it is worth while (i.e. did it help at all with the process of applying to a private HS)?

Here is the description:

“Middle School Recruiting Event
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Classes of 2030 and 2031 only
Coaches from IAAM, WCAC, ISL are invited and will be attending!”

Last year (2024) they listed the following coaches as attending:

McDonogh School
Good Counsel
Archbishop Spalding
Roland Park School
John Carroll School
St. Mary's Annapolis
The Potomac School, VA
Bishop Ireton
Paul the VI High School
Bryn Mawr School

They haven’t shared a list of which school’s coaches are attending in 2025 so a lot of the value lies in who is attending and if that’s a school you are applying to for HS.

That 2024 list would be casting a pretty wide net. It would seem like contacting coaches at the schools your DD would actually attend would be a more effective strategy for getting “recruited”.
