Team names and levels

We are new to the travel soccer world so apologies if this is a dumb question: is there somewhere you can look to see what level the team you are playing is based on the name? For example, some teams have white/black/blue/orange in the name, and it would be helpful to know whether we are playing another club’s 1st team or 4th team (especially after losing badly!) just to get a sense of where we are. This is for boy’s teams in NOVA. Thank you!

OP, not a dumb question at all. It is very difficult to tell and the club websites don’t always list the levels. I think clubs obfuscate the levels on purpose. No one likes to point out to little kids and new families what team level they are on when starting out or what the actual competition is at tournaments.

The best tip is to download the Soccer Rankings App, free version. You can type in a club and see team orders listed.

One club will be Red, White & Blue and the next will be Lavelle, Rodman & Horan. Ect. There is no way to know at U12-U9 with the non standard naming conventions. It’s easier after U13 with ECNL/ RL & GA/ Aspire ect.

And without the App, you’ll be completely lost at out of state tournaments.
