I am asking because I want to know how having elite children in a school effects the overall climate of the school. Are secret service agents following children around the school and if so does this disrupt instruction and make the other children feel nervous.
If possible please note the name of the school and how the school handles these elite children. This is an area of the admissions process that many families may or may not think about. |
| I will not name the place. However, we've noted the capitol police around not when the children are there, but only when the parents visit. |

Chesea Clinton attended Sidwell, All Gore III attended St. Albans and then Sidwell. Amy Carter attended Hardy.
I am not sure who else would have required Secret Service protection. As I udnerstand it, the Secrete Service has their own protocols which are probably left off of a public forum, but for the most part, the protections are mostly invisible to the other students and school communities. |
| This is a stupid question. "DC elite children?" Sure, there are lots of kids from high-powered or well connected families at a variety of schools, but it's not a big issue. As for Secret Service protection, I think that's only provided to a very few children -- being "elite" (whatever that is) doesn't come with security guards. |
I think the OP meant "high profile" families/children who (perhaps) require secret service and/or additional security. |
If you think it's stupid, don't visit the thread. I think OP might also be referring to US Marshall protection. |
| There are often secret service at Potomac School where Cheney's grandchildren attend. |
