children desk,need recommendations to choose

i researched the best kids desk and chair sets as i want to create a small learning corner for my child at home. i have been experiencing some struggles with keeping their study time organized since everything usually ends up scattered around the living room. i went through reviews from trusted sources like tech radar and forbes and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:

however i am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and i would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some parents or teachers on this forum can also share their advice.i usually try to go for something sturdy but also easy to clean since kids can be messy, so not sure which one would be more practical long term. any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

We just did an IKEA tabletop with 4 screw-on legs.

This let us swap out different-sized tabletops and the various storage options (underneath and on the desktop) as their needs changed over the years. Kid is in college now, and over time this system proved to be cheap, sturdy, and flexible. They’ve even reused the pegboard with little boxes and hooks for office supplies over their dorm desk.

Middle school required a larger surface and more paper management, because their magnet program involved a lot of research projects and was heavily paper-based. But high school had far more reading and the actual work was more computer-centric, so they preferred to have a smaller work surface that would give them enough room to add for a comfortable chair for reading.

Both kids have desks from IKEA. One uses the table top with screw in legs and actually uses it, but has a desktop computer and has that on it.

Our other kid picked a small desk and insisted on it and still does all work on her bed or floor. The desk often has her makeup and curling iron on it.

Both are in high school.

DCs ( ES and MS) have Hon Ergonomic chairs with armrest, pair with Lifetime 80160 height adjustable desk. They both do school/homework on their desks/chairs daily.
