Elementary school lunch

Did any other elementary schools shorten their lunch and recess time by 10 minutes this year?

My K kid has 35 minutes for lunch and 35 for recess, but my 4th grader has only 30 minutes for each of those... and last year it was 35 each. So, yeah, seems like it.

At our school it's still 30 minutes for lunch and 30 minutes for recess, as it has been for years. But our school has also had FIT/intervention time most days for years already. Maybe it is new at your school (I think all schools are required to do it this year) and that's part of how they fit it in?

(Although probably part of it too is that our school is already doing lunches all the way up until 2:15pm-- adding an extra 5 minutes to every lunch period wouldn't even be feasible I don't think...)

FIT is new at our school where it changed, that makes sense.
