Does this mean they are going to roll out the next iteration of maps soon?

Yes

They are expanding Damascus AND redrawing boundaries for Crown, which includes Damascus? I think with the enrollment cliff, we are going to have several under capacity HS in 10 years.

The Damascus expansion is delayed, with a TBD completion date.

Ah okay. So it sounds like the new maps won't be released in September after all, they're waiting for October.

MCPS being shady as usual:

“Note that boundary study maps and additional resources will be available for the in-person sessions.”

The first round of in person meetings gave all of these resources for parents to take home and share with neighbors.

They just mean there will be paper maps and printouts available at the in person meetings, as opposed to the zoom meetings.

Are there going to be completely new options or are they just narrowing down the current options?

My understanding is that it could be either.

Where I think when they presented it, they said those weren't the definite options and they'll take feedback into account for the next round of options.

Of course, they could have just been saying that and tied to the previous options.

I'm expecting several new, and better, options.

It's interesting that the only in-person options are at B-CC and Blair for the Woodward study. They're catering to who will be the loudest and most engaged parents: White, property owning parents who don't want their boundaries to change where their kids go to school.
