Small 3rd row SUV you like?

Anonymous
I need a third row, but only for kid sports carpool. So I don’t mind if it’s small and it’s okay if it takes up almost all the cargo space. Looking at a Highlander or an older Tiguan. Any others you like? I’m trying to get the most easily maneuverable car with enough seatbelts.

I drive a Honda Pilot and the kids are comfortable in the third row. Slightly roomier than a Highlander.

I have one of the new (>24) Santa Fe hybrids. Love basically everything about it. 3rd row is great for kids or short trips for adults, most of the time I have it down for cargo.

The Honda Pilot is a full sized SUV. If you want a comfortable third row--most people will do a large SUV or minivan.

+1
Or Accurate MDX
Not that much bigger on the outside than the mid sized model.

We LOVE our KIA Sorento. We tested the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento and Kia Telluride. The Highlander was overpriced and didn't handle well (and only came in 2 colors and there was a $5K over list dealer markup, it was absurd), the Pilot felt cheap, the Santa Fe is a great car, but felt too big and boxy, we liked both the Sorento and the Telluride but picked the Sorento because it's smaller and felt more luxurious.

A small suv with a third row is a waste of money. It won't be comfortable or practical at al, even for kids. Get an SUV with a real 3rd row like a Sequoia or Grand Wagoneer.

Toyota Highlanders are glorified minivans. The Honda Pilot is pretty lame too. Toyota 4Runner is better than both.

Genesis GV80. Hands down. Just like the rest of the world, I first heard about Genesis back when Tiger Woods crashed his Genesis (not sure if it was GV80 or GV70) into a tree and survived the insane airborne, side-landing. It is such a gorgeous looking, well-made car. Do also look up Ioniq 5 accident and see how well-made Genesis/Hyundai/Kia cars are these days.

Subaru Ascent - love ours.

How is the 3rd row in a 4Runner? Aren't they typically only 2 rows? What about MDX?

Do you mean the Mazda CX-9 or Mazda CX-90? I don’t think the 6 is sold in the US and I don’t know if it ever had a third row.
