I really hate making school lunches. I wish in school options were better.

Me too.

You need to streamline. I'm not a meal prepper, but this is the only way to handle school lunches. You make it so easy the kid can do it.

Kid can make their own lunch

This. When I started having my kids make their own lunches, they suddenly decided MCPS lunches weren't so bad after all. No allergies/intolerances/sensitivities here, though.

Same unless your kids are very young. I kind of supported through elementary school but by middle school they were fully independent. We would coordinate so they could have leftovers in their keep warm container or I’d get groceries for a salad, but deciding what to eat and packing it was definitely on them.

Although I agree that I wish the quality and nutrition was better in school lunches, mostly because some kids don’t have any choice and they deserve better.

Mine buys lunch, though I pack some hearty snacks for aftercare.

It’s still 180 more to go - there are 181 days total. Sorry!

I outsourced to DH. After years of making them for DC1, I just couldn't any more. DC2 gets lunches made by Dad.

I send the kid to school with bunch of snacks. Can't call them lunches.
He eats at home 3:30- 4 pm and 8 pm.

There are parents who have already made close to 2000 lunches for one kid over the 11 years. You people are such complainers.
