Looking for info on their volleyball club for my 9th grade daughter (14U, Libero). Has anyone had experience with them. Just looking for an overview. |
They’re great! Facility is amazing and it’s not insanely expensive.
If your kid is good enough to be on the D1 recruiting track then you’d already know that this isn’t the club that will deliver that. But they are decent at coaching and providing opportunities for solid play. |
Parking is awful. Joining St. James is not an option for me (we live in MD), but every time we go to St. James, the parking is terrible. |
Saying it is awful is an understatement. Search posts and you can see some from a tournament last year. It was so bad I won’t have DD tryout there. I’m not joining and paying the extra fee to park, on top of the club fee, if she even wanted to. |
Meh. The facility is nice but program is average. |
I don't know how expensive things are for the girls side but it's about the most expensive program i have seen on the boys side at $4700 |
Club had some momentum 3 years ago, but lost a lot of good coaches. |
Clinics are great but not worth it to join the team. |
That's because they have essentially a monopoly on boys' clubs in the area. The other options are in Manassas, Ashburn, Rockville, or rotating FCPS gyms for some age groups. |
Best facility in the DMV and one of the poorest vball programs. They made an effort a few years ago buying Arlington Elite. Mistake was that wasn’t a good program to start with, and lots of coaches left anyway. |

DS tried out there tonight. Is the boys team bad too? There are barely any boys teams and I REALLY don’t want to have to go out to Manassas for practices multiple times a week. |
The other good clubs for boys are Maryland Juniors and Annapolis Volleyball Club. Yes, a hike for either. Both have tryouts on Sunday.
There’s also DMV in Rockville but we were not very impressed when they began and their teams are not as strong or successful as any of these others. |
We are so new to this. DSL was trying out for the white team and got an invite for the navy one surprisingly. But they start practices in Sept which conflicts with school practices and games. How do people handle that? |
I hear from a relative that the boys team they only play the starting players at tournaments. The others Onky get play at practices and are there to finance the program |
$4700 is wild |
