Sex drive went downhill

Anonymous
Gf is 43 and overweight (190 lbs at 5’3) and has diabetes. Our sex life is suffering since she says there is no sex drive in her either due to diabetes or perimenopause. She makes me feel bad for wanting to have sex or some kind of physical intimacy. I am high earner and take care of all the finances at home, trips, nice dinners and anything else needed for her comfortable stay. She’s reluctant for HRT since it has cancer risk. I would like to know what are the chances of her drive to improve from HRT or is it a dead end for us?

Do HRT with testosterone

Find a new GF. HRT causes cancer and if she has diabetes that's not great for long term health either. How fit/healthy are you OP.

Sadly, this is the right answer here.

Her libido is not coming back.

The difference is:

- the ring, the promise/ lifelong-commitment it represents, and children.

Your libido-less girlfriend has none of those. And now she has taken your sex-life off the negotiating table? Dump her.

Dump her and find someone younger with an intact libido.

However, my answer would be the opposite for a married wife, especially if there are innocent children involved.

In that case, yes: HRT and specifically low-dose testosterone (or “T”) will fix most peri and menopausal wives’ disappearing libido problems.

T also works wonders for menopausal fatigue and brain-fog symptoms.

That is not factual.

You chose to be with an older female, that is unhealthy, overweight, has health issues, makes less than you, does not have a sex drive and does not make you or her health a priority? It’s a gf… move on to someone else.

Yeah at 190lbs she sounds like no prize. Yuck.

Op here. I am 44, and my bmi is 26ish or so at 5’11”,have PhD in engineering and makes about $800k with my investments. I am aware that I could dump her but I love her and emphathetic about her situation if it could improve.

I suggest further research about the risk of cancer on HRT for her specific medical history.

Many, many women (including myself) are on HRT with positive results, and for most the increased cancer risk is minimal.

If her risk is low, it’s worth a shot if she is willing to try it.

Was she always low drive?

I’m 46, solidly in perimenopause and my drive is still pretty high.

What about Ozempic for the diabetes and weight? I think that would be the first step if she hasn’t already tried.

If I had a husband who made $800k/year, I'd be on Wegovy and HRT. High BMI and low libido are for the poors like me!

Ya, with this kind of money, you can get younger women that would please you day and night.

Op here. No , she has not been like this and sex drive went down in last one year. She’s ok ozempic and it helped a little, that’s it.
