Status of Kennedy Street NW construction, affect on detour of C81 bus line to Deal MS and JR?

Does anyone have insight into when the westbound C81 bus stop will be reopened at 14th St NW and Kennedy St NW? The WMATA alert announced in June that due to ongoing construction on Kennedy Street, the C81 bus has will be detoured "until further notice".

Just trying to mentally prepare as my kid attends Jackson Reed and will need to take the C81 bus starting on August 25, now that all the Deal and JR buses (D31, D32, D33, D34, W45) have been eliminated.

Until construction is completed, it looks like they will have to catch the C81 three blocks further east at Georgia Avenue. I know that's not the end of the world, but my kid will appreciate it when they finally don't have to walk an extra 15 minutes to the bus stop.

I don’t know when it will be done but the roadwork from Georgia to 16th St on Kennedy has been going on for close to a year. I would assume it will be at least another few months.

OP here -- the C81 bus worked well enough for the first three days of school (although still requiring my kid to get on at Georgia Avenue). But then today my kid boarded and the bus sat without moving for 20 minutes, which I imagine delayed every passenger along the route. WMATA needs to do better. If others had a similar experience, please sent a comment to WMATA asking them to work harder.

Pretty sure I saw something from Deal suggesting it would be detouring until January.
