Sockless Grooms

What's with this trend? It looks so ridiculous. Almost like brides think it's a cool look, but the grooms are not so sure.

My uncle did his third wedding without socks and that marriage was better than his other two.

Another thread of women obsessed with men’s feet.

I agree that it looks ridiculous. It's not only grooms, though. I see it on men at dressed-up occasions. I think they will all regret it, but it is especially regrettable on grooms who will have the wedding photos for the rest of their lives.

I'm not so sure who is going to be fixated on grandpa's ankles in 60 years.

No one, of course, but it looks ridiculous NOW and in all the wedding pics. The last two wedding party pictures that were shared with us, had sockless grooms wearing velvet slippers. We can't stop laughing.

It can look fine depending on style of the wedding party. Think boat shoe vibes.

This is true. I saw it at a conference a few years ago now (when it was pretty new) and it looked so creepy I tried to get a picture of it. It's always with slim fit tapered pants and some kind of italian loafer.
It's definitely getting mainstream now. We're becoming immune, just like we did with their man-buns!

I'm a big fan of very low socks that don't show. I wear ballet flats with "sock liners" and you can't see the liner. So if you can't see someone's socks, please don't assume they're not there. Because of this, I don't mind not seeing socks on people, even in a formal setting. It's their wedding day - surely on this day of all days, the bride and groom can wear whatever they damn well want?!

Men should always wear socks unless they are at the beach or something.

Women should always wear socks with any closed shoes. It's so gross not to do that.

Awful, awful look. It's effeminate and affected. I'm embarrassed for these grooms.

As a Western European, I don't mind that at all. It's a style I rather like! Asian men fashions are like this too. It's only in North America and Eastern Europe that they like their men at the lumberjack end of the spectrum.

Like on the sand?

On the bank of a river with a bucket of bud light nearby?

I can't think of many scenarios where this is a solid wedding fashion choice.

How stinky and gross their feet must be.

Sockless is the kind of fashion choice a man makes when mowing the lawn in cut off shorts and a wife beater tank with a can of beer in his hand.
