dominion hospital IOP

Hello, does anyone have any experience with the IOP program at Dominion hospital? I would appreciate it if you could kindly share your experience. Thank you.

I used a different IOP, only because Dominion was booked solid at the time, which may speak to the quality of the care there. The PHP I had been a part of had mentioned it as a potential resource.

Is IOP intensive outpatient?

My child went to the dominion PHP (partial hospitalization program) during COVID as a pediatric patient. We had a good experience, though my child ended up inpatient after a week of PHP.

We had a good experience in the pediatric ward. I don’t know anything about the adolescent ward as my child has not needed hospitalization as an adolescent.

I think hospitalization mostly helped open up doors for us to access better outpatient care - we were able to keep the psychiatrist we were paired with while inpatient, even though they weren’t accepting new patients, and therapists paid attention when we called to find out availability. And got my child on meds right away when we’d been having a hard time finding anyone who would help us at all.

Yes, it is intensive outpatient therapy. I am looking for IOP for adolescent. I read the review of Dominion Hospital and it is scary. I am glad you had a good experience.

Have you looked at Compass? My kid had a pretty good PHP experience there and then did IOP for a bit.
