Spreading the word so parents know. Their children also swam on a summer swim team, the MVP Dolphins. Thomas Mahony volunteered a lot, traveled to meets, etc. If your child had contact with this person, you should make sure they were not abused.

Actually, the OP appears to have posted shortly after receiving the email that went out to ASA parents this evening. Horrible and heartbreaking for all kids involved.

Understanding the presence of water makes abuse more likely, I’m not understanding the connection to ASA unless he was around the swimmers alone.

That aside, it sounds like more is going to come out in the next few weeks and if what is stated in the article below is true, he sounds like a real creep. Does anyone know what the 400 block of Massachusetts, nw is? Is that his home address? I don’t believe ASA practices around there.

Investigators were called to the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue, NW, twice on July 14, once at 11:11 a.m. and again just after 5:30 p.m.

Police say Mahoney engaged in an "unwanted sexual act" with a young girl and "unwanted sexual contact" with another young boy.

Anyone with information on Mahoney is encouraged to contact MPD at [phone].
