Am I reading this slides correctly? Are they getting rid of the countywide programs at Blair and RM?

Don't know if you can read because you missed the first thread already titled for this meeting

These students complaining about the new grading program sound so ridiculous. Saying they wouldn't have chosen classes if they knew there was going to be rigor? Ridiculous! MCPS better not go back on the policies in place!

They haven't decided on any programs or boundaries yet, and that's what people are complaining about. They haven't even put out the final ones they will decide on yet.

Agree the students are ridiculous

Looks like affirmative. It’s clearly stated in their slides now.

How are they planning to offer buses if every school is a magnet/focus? I am so confused. There will be children from every neighborhood going to 5 different schools. DCC is already such a draining program as far as transportation and now we are making that countywide? I hate this plan.

It's clearly stated that they recommend it. The board still gets to decide (next year).

Why, why, why can't we just work on 26 strong high schools that all offer a variety of leveled work? Why can't all students just go to their zoned school? What if we used all of this money from their "Research," buses, program procurement etc, to add more teachers to the county and reduce the size of classes? Why does everyone need a program?

+1

Have all students attend their zoned schools and just focus on making them all strong. Utilize virtual education and dual enrollment if needed to add rigor and equality. Stop wasting money.
