Do families typically gift the coaches at the end of season banquet? What’s a “typical” gift amount? Thinking about having the kids sign a thank you card and include a gift card-but there are so many coaches/junior coaches so don’t want to do anything too crazy. |
One parent collects money from all the families (totally optional and no specific amount requested) and it is divided between the coaches as a season end bonus |
our team collects money and distributes to coaches- splitting up the bonus amt based on coaching level. |
This is our first time doing summer swim so wish I had thought of something like this prior to the literal last day of the season! Will have to keep in mind for next year! |
We usually have a parent or two collect money and then divide it between the coaches. Like others said - sort of an end of the season bonus.
This year a swim rep is doing the collecting via Venmo and asking for swimmers names on it which rubs me the wrong way - I don't like to think that someone is keeping track of who donates and how much they donate. (and it feels especially strange as two of her children are coaches) |
We are collecting as we do every year: a parent does it. This year there is a Venmo and two parents: the person doing the outreach is not the person who sees the actual Venmo, so I think that is good. There has been a lot of effort towards privacy. I know how much we as a team _usually_ collect, so I hope we met or exceeded that. Our coaches are amazing and deserve everything we can do to thank them. |
How much do people usually give? We always donate $100 but wondering if that’s on the average, lo or high end… |
Our teach does team rep gifts but not coach gifts ... is that weird? |
To me that is a little off, unless your coaches are _very_ highly paid and the rep gifts are not cash or gift cards. Reps are volunteers, and giving them money to thank them would seem like an apology, to me, doubly so if they also have a full-time job. Coaches' salaries are often very low, so our team gifts help to make up that gap. |
Coaches get bonuses paid out from the fees. Swim families also give cards/gifts/gift cards for coach appreciation. Team reps may get token gift card if extra money. Every pool probably does it different. We're D2. |
Most give $100. It is a lot of coaches. |
We give a card to each coach with $100 cash. $200 for head coach. |
