Anyone else in the same situation? What will you do?

Go to Publix and apply next year

Call around and see if any of the less popular schools will take a late application or register for public.

What grade? Where are you located?

Public for a year unless you have connnections at a private or parochial.

What grade and is your public an option? Any other constraints (religion, geography, etc)?

Any sense of what might have been the issue? Did you apply only to schools that are very selective? Does your child have learning or behavioral challenges?

If you give more info, people may be able to give you ideas on schools that might have room and be a good fit.

FWIW, we decided to switch DD to private during COVID, in September. I emailed a dozen schools, all of them legitimate and well-respected and within a reasonable distance to us in Bethesda, asking if they had room for a girl in her elementary grade, and 3 did. I’m sure things were different during COVID, but it is possible to find a great school off-cycle.
