Sleep away camps

My child wants to go to sleep away camp next year and I’m having some sticker shock. Are people really paying 5k + ?!? Are there cheaper options? Do you get what you pay for?

This would be for a 10 yo girl- definitely not picky and literally makes friends everywhere she goes.

CampLetts.org is a YMCA camp (like Frost Valley, where I went as a kid), and much closer and much less expensive
