Math classes/tutoring?

Anonymous
DD in elementary school is doing ok in math (80s percentile on her Map-M) and we went over her math hw every night during the school year. We are considering classes/tutoring like Kumon, mathnasium, or Russian math just based on what we've heard and seen but we've never used these in the past as our other child hasn't needed help with math. Any feedback on them? We're in Bethesda and Asian fwiw. Thanks in advance.

My child does RSM and likes it. She is super math-y. It is much more advanced than what MCPS offers, even on the standard accelerated track. And it goes deeper. It's been worth it for us, but it wouldn't be good if she weren't super into math. Others like Kumon/Mathnasium might be better for students who need some enrichment but don't want to accelerate and enrich deeply.

80th percentile seems fine. I’m not sure what you are trying to accomplish.
