Should I be concerned?

I'm not sure if this is something to worry about yet or not . Is 5 and he wets the bed every night he potty trained at two no problem . His pediatrician says it's still normal . After looking on here at other posts im relieved that it's common and terrified it might last several more years . We just put a regular buggies pull-up on him at night they usually don't leak . Should we be concerned and trying to get into a specialist or relax and give it more time ? His sisters stopped when they daytime trained.

I have heard from pediatricians they don't worry until the boy is 7.

Why are there SO many posts about elementary aged kids who wet the bed. It's a little weird how frequently it gets posted.

My son is almost 9 and still wets the bed regularly. Our doc said "normal" until 12/13 years old!

My son was six or seven and still really struggling. Doctor recommended getting him an alarm, which sounded medieval, but... it worked!

And didn't seem to bother him. Check them out on Amazon.

You should get a second opinion. 12 or 13 is NOT normal at ALL.

At 5, most doctors won’t do much (unless there are other continence issues going on). The American Academy of Pediatrics estimates (based on studies) that 20% of 5 year olds haves not acquired nocturnal continence. Their expectation is that it is not a cause for concern until past 5 years old. Oftentimes it is genetic and more common in boys than girls. However, there doesn’t have to be a genetic link.
