If you can stand the commercials that interrupt the flow way too often, they are re-airing The Wire on HBO Max and it is as good as you remember it was. If you haven’t seen it, go watch it!

Corniest series ever made. Illiterate gangbangers and cops who barely graduated from high school randomly speaking the King's English in profound quips.

Only thing they got right is machine pols and cops don't give a darn about solving crimes. Average cop is a useless freeloader and crime data is all fake.

After hearing so much about it, I watched Season 1 and found it just OK. I'd say equivalent to Law and Order or something. Do the later seasons get better or something?

I enjoyed the entire series. But if you didn’t like Season 1, I would skip Season 2 and give 3 and 4 a shot.

OP, can you answer? What's so special about an HBO show being available on HBO Max? It's been there since the app came into existence.

OP here and I am embarrassed! I just got Max and they were advertising it as new, so I thought they hadn’t had it on… I thought maybe it was digitally remastered or enhanced somehow.

I was excited to watch it again, but a little worried it wouldn’t be as good as I remembered. But it was still amazing!
