Is anyone else annoyed with the street parking that happens in the burbs when it blocks your front window view?
|
View of the burbs. lol. |
No. I do mind when our entire block is filled with poorly parked suvs and trucks though, and I have to park on another street |
Something to think about when you buy a house. No automatic entitlement to park in front of it if you don’t have a driveway. Maybe chevk the street at 8pm on night before you buy. |
Mainly I hate when other people park in front of my house. It feels rude. |

Just install a fake fire hydrant, cuts down the number of parkers. Also befriend a local cop and get a ticket book for those that do park. Win-win for you and the local municipality. |
No, we don’t use our front rooms, but I wouldn’t want someone’s car parked in front if my house. My stout dog would think it’s an intruder. |
If this sort a f thing bothers you I don’t understand why you would buy a house in the kind of neighborhood where that would happen. |
No. But we moved from ny, where we had occasional unpleasant surprises on our street, like flattened rats, wind blown metal trash cans, and human feces, so I guess my standards of what to get annoyed about are different than yours. |
On the plus side it slows down traffic. On the minus side people park boats and trailers that don’t move for years. |
New poster here. It can happen anywhere. We just bought a house in a neighborhood where street parking is not allowed by the HOA, but people still do. |
Do a search lots of threads on this. |
It’s kind of a guarantee that the person with the ugliest or most unwieldy vehicle will park in front of your house or directly across from your driveway in a way that makes backing out impossible. It is what it is.
My dog and my neighbors’ dog get really mad about it. The neighbors’ dog is vocal enough that she discourages the random teenage visitors from parking anywhere close to our houses. Highly recommend a neighbor with a Gremlin of a dog. |
You can be irritated, but you didn't buy a view. Sorry. |
