What style/color Sperry's do most of the boys wear at Gonzaga? DS is a rising freshman coming in from public school so we are new to all of this!
Trying to figure some of this out now so he is all set come August. TIA! |
Color is a preference, but these are the ones my son used to wear. Liked them because they seemed to have more foot support than the typical topsiders. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EPCBRG?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

Same here- brown/tan that goes well with khaki pants. |
Wait, do the shoes have to be Sperry? I didn't think the dress code was that specific. |
no they do not. my kid is anti-sperry |
Is it common that Catholic private schools require dress shoes or Sperry’s on a daily basis or is this a Gonzaga thing? Has there been a shift towards letting students wear sneakers? Most K-8 schools allow sneakers if they are black solid colored. |
Why? |
Our K-8 catholic specifies no Mocs, must be brown or black dress shoes, no athletic shoes except for gym. I think they allow black solid colored sneakers for preschool and kindergarten years. I think Sperrys tend to be more comfortable than loafers or laced dress shoes like Florsheims but I’m no boys’ shoe expert. |
They mostly wear Sahara/Royal brown. I bought my son two colors when he was a freshman but he would only wear the color that most of the other guys were wearing. |
It’s common at all the schools my kids went to and also at our K-8. |
O’Connell started allowing solid sneakers a couple years ago; Ireton is allowing starting this upcoming school year. |
SJC allows sneakers in black, white or gray, Sahara colored Sperry’s or Bucks. I’ve noticed that most students there choose sneakers. Cadet Corp kids wear special black dress shoes on uniform days. |
This is helpful—thank you! |

Gonzaga only allows sneakers for recovery if you have an injury and a doctor’s note. |
