I have some from Madewell that seem to sprout tiny holes with a couple washes.
I just want a non-clingy, classic, v-neck cotton T shirt that will wear and wash well. Help? I am busty so prefer nothing too tight or clingy. |
Mm la Fleur is pretty good |
I had the same issue with my Madewell tees. I'm looking at the old lady brands - LL Bean, Chicos, and Lands End for thicker cotton. |
Lands End supima tees. They look a bit matronly but the fabric holds up very well. |
Kirkland at Costco. I’m not kidding. Nice thick fabric, good fit, they last a long time. And the price is great.

+1 Lands End. |
Everlane has good ones, although he colors are a little boring and they are a little pricey. |
I came here to say this. |
I love mine from Z Supply, they have a good selection.

J Crew - only buy on sale |
I’ve had horrible luck with their tees. Tiny holes in every one, often after the first wear. I’ve given up. I’ve had better luck with Vineyard Vines quality. They do some plain tees without any whales. |
I was at J Crew Factory over July 4th weekend. They had a lot of shirts that seemed cheaply made but the everyday tee for around the same price as the others seemed really nice so I bought a bunch. So far so good. I think only comes in crew neck though. |
*Essential tee |
Gap organic v neck. I bought a few this spring and haven’t had issues. I sized down, wash on delicate cold with other cotton, and don’t put in the dryer. |
I have recently switched from lands end to LL Bean. Try both. |
