Tip the Stanley Steamer Guys?

Here is another tedious post about tipping! This time around, I’m wondering if I should tip the Stanley steamer guys. They are coming this afternoon and will do about six area rugs. (I am too lazy to try to rent a machine and do it myself.)

To tip or not to tip? If tip, how much?

OP here. I live outside the DMV and I just gave them $10 each and said I was treating them to a cold beverage. They seemed happy with that. They were here for about an hour. I was going to give them $20 each but then at the last second I cheaped out. (I’m a fed who was RIFfed and took another job with a massive pay cut, so I am trying to be a little more careful.)

You could tip anyone and everyone if you wanted. Seen some people tip strangers who get the door for them.

But generally no. You don't tip salary workers.

I only tip for surprisingly good service or they do something extra.
