3 ft x 35 ft, using mid range stone look blocks (rather than real stone.) any ballpark would be appreciated! |
$5-$500,000 based on the details provided |
Do your zoning laws permit a 35 foot high wall ? |
Lol three feet tall and 35 feet long |
Monolith! Could be a religious exemption. ![]() OP, you mean using concrete blocks right? Figure the price for how many blocks that would be at about $4 delivered each. Then add about 300-400% to the previous total price. So if the blocks came up to about $600 delivered, then say $1800 to $2400 added to that, so $2400 to $3000 would be a good estimate. |
If you can find a mason to put up a 35 foot long, 3 foot high retaining wall for $3,000, I've got another wall I'll sell you. |
I would guess at least 20-40K. We got quotes for $20K for a small wall and it was insane. |
I second this. Higher end or more if you want it to look quaint |
Exactly. Is is purely decorative or structural (as in, holding up dirt that matters). |
You need an engineer to determine what you are retaining and what would be required in order to retain that. |
I got a quote a few years ago for about 35k, will likely be higher now. |
+1 Retaining walls are much more expensive than I realized. Especially if the slope is significant or its difficult to access and bringequipment in |
Our quote was so high for a retaining wall that was about 50' x 2' that DH ended up building it himself. |
The clue is in the word “retaining.” |
Code is 20 ft long, 2 feet high, no permit or engineer required. |
