Why are colleges with a several year trend of students accepting admission continuing to accept more students then they have dorm space for…looking at you VT and JMU…
Very annoying. |
Colleges have been doing this for a long time. Penn State used to put 6-8 people in the lounges as overflow and move them out as regular rooms became available. They would also make “dingles” (2 people in a single room) and “triples” (3 people in a double room). Somehow the numbers worked out by the end of the semester, I’m not sure if it was because of drop outs or people moving off campus. |
Because they know some with "no show" or leave within a few weeks. |
How do they became available? Kids drop out or change dorms? |
Michigan is over enrolled this year too. They don't have housing for many of the kids taken from the waitlist. They're all in limbo. |
Because they need the money. |
Because it is hard exactly estimating how many students will accept an offer. |
This thread ran a week or two ago. Troll harder. |
