I'm not even sure what this thing is called, but I've seen stretchy lightweight tight sleep sacks for older kids and I think my wiggly ADHD 9 year old might like one. I have a few questions:
1. My kid often gets hot and sleeps on top of her covers at night. Will she overheat in the sleep sack? 2. Is there a particular brand that is good and lightweight? 3. Does this sort of sensory input while asleep lead to less sensory-seeking during the day? My kid is just super wiggly during the day. She definitely seeks physical stimulation, so we tried a weighted blanket but she got way too hot. I'm wondering if this might help her feel more calm in her body when awake (or is it just something that helps while a kid sleeps)? Thanks! |
Pehr muslin sleep sacks. Used up to age 2.5, then slept with it like a blanket. Got softer with every wash. No overheating issues.

We got something like this from Hug Sleep -- it's a very lightweight, stretchy tube of fabric kids can use for sensory input. Our kid does not sleep in it at night, but he snuggles in it for quiet time/nap time sometimes. |
