Red car

I'm going back and forth if I should get the red car or the black option. I have previously judged people with red cars. Like they want attention or like being flashy.

I am not an attention seeking on the road type of person! I had a miata when I was in my 20's that was a convertable top and had random guys follow me. I didn't like it at all.

Red cars jump out from safety perspective. Safer than black cars.

Red cars attract police attention.

I hate black, so would take any option but that. I am very picky about color - some reds and blues aren't great, but if the only alternative is black, I'd settle for red, even a not-so-great one. This is what I did for our Mazda, actually. It's a dark red. I'd actually love to have a forest green car!

It's true that red is a noticeable color, but people who choose it aren't necessarily the narcissistic jerks you seem to think they are.

Oh, yes forest green would be nice.

We had a red car (SUV) for a decade. I thought I wouldn’t like the color but it turned out to be a non-issue. And the car was much easier to find in parking lots.

It depends on the car. The only cars that look good in red are small sports cars like your Miata.

For me, no color beats black after a nice detail. The problem with black is that you see everything on it, dirt, slight scratches, swirls etc. I like some of the reds I’ve seen, the Mazdas come to mind. For me, the problem with reds is that they seem prone to fading as they get older.

I now tend towards the charcoal greys and dark blues.

Red always looks great day 1, but red paint always seems to oxidize quickly. So it looks different, and not so good after 3-5 years. Other colors of paint fare much better.

Red cars are so ugly unless it is a Ferrari or at least a miata

I like dark red so I would choose it over black for all the negative reasons for black mentioned earlier. Go for a metallic color, those tend to look better even when they have a light coat of dirt and wear longer.

Prefer red as I can see it in a parking lot.

I have a red car, not bright red though, and like it so much better than the sea of black and grey cars.

And I hope it might be more visible if an idiot decides to suddenly turn in front of me or move over a lane. I drive safely and have no reason to think it would attract police attention.

Honestly what I avoid are the boring colors that everyone else has. I don't drive recklessly. I'm a middle-aged mother of 2. I like happy colors, for clothes as well. Life is too short for dull and depressing colors.
