My kids are teens. Any gift ideas for a toddler turning 2 (girl)? I dont know the family super well. $25-$40ish range.
We have been invited to a huge birthday BBQ party tomorrow for the baby sister of my teen DS’s long time best friend, and plan to stop by for an hour or two. We don’t know the family well other than chatting a bit at drop offs and pickups over the years. Any recs? |
I only give check.
(If it was a toddler girl from my culture, I would have given a 22K gold earrings for the girl) People do not want clothes, more toys, more books, more stuff. |
For tomorrow you kind of have to go with what’s in store right?
If you have time or can find them, Stabilo Woodys. They’re a proper art supply but they’re also great for little hands and they color beautifully and last forever. If you’re at target, get the pineapple shaped bubble machine and a jug of bubble juice. |
Melissa & Doug toys are usually a hit in that age group |
Play doh or puzzles
|
Amazon Electronic gift card. All you need is a parents email. You don't know them well enough to know what the 2 year old girl enjoys. And you don't know what they own. Or go to target and get a fisher price little people set plus the electronic gift card. Two year olds love little people |
Get a toy or book. I always like clothing for the next season or next size up. |
Hanna Andersson clothing-- adorable prints, great quality, and top-notch customer service. Having a big sale right now.

summer stuff - a pool towel or pool toys. A favorite book. Crayola Color wonder. A $25 gift card to target. kids still need diapers at that age. 2 is a tough age for gifts and harder when you don't know the family well. |
My kid got this at her 2nd bday ans still plays with it daily
https://www.target.com/p/melissa-doug-scoop-serve-ice-cream-set/-/A-50696931 Also received an adora doll that she is inseparable from She also received 3 minnie mouse duplo bday trains. She plays with it sometimes but not daily but apparently is the hot gift ( she's almost 3) |
My kids don’t need more toys, but I never object to more books. We have a ton, but they love them and I appreciate having something new to read to them. Just go by Barnes & Noble and pick up a couple board books for now, or get one or two picture books to grow into. Include a gift receipt. |
Stickers, crayons, and paper are good ones. You can get overloaded with toys but consumables are generally good. |
Books are great. I gave "A Piglet Named Mercy" once for a two-year-old and it was well-received. |
Magnatiles, playdogh, duplos, Bluey stickers, paw patrol toy. |
I have a 2 yo girl and agree with the bubble machine recommendation.
My girls are also super into dolls and always love to receive more! A cute outfit is also an amazing gift. One of my older girls received a B&N gift card from a family who didn’t know us very well for her 1st or 2nd bday and I thought that was a very sweet gift card pick for a little kid. |
