Does the Peace Corps still exist or was it eliminated?

I'm unclear but I'm sure someone out there knows.

It is still there, but for how long, who knows?

In limbo since late April. Major cuts expected.

Is the Peace Corps needed as much as it used to be? Aren't there numerous NGOs that do the same thing? Shouldn't other countries be pressured to offer more support for the Peace Corps mission?

At some point, being in the Peace Corps was a way to earn your “I’m a socialist” merit badge, which allowed communists in the universities to give a stamp of approval for granting tenure and upper leadership positions.

Funny, I actually worked for the Peace Corps when I was younger, and I don’t know anyone who believed the lie you just wrote. If you think wanting to help others is a socialist idea and not a human characteristic, you are that animal.

Weird. One of the most conservative people I know (evangelical Christian) applied to the Peace Corps. Lots of churches also have missions that do a lot more than read the Bible.
