Yes! We’ve used a few companies, but Moorings was pretty good. We had people with Stanley experience so did not include the pilot and chef package.
It is a great experience, one of my favorite vacations. You do need to plan a lot in advance on where you’re going to go, etc. The British Virgin Islands is a good starting point for a lot of people. The distance between the islands is minimal. |

| We did it through the Moorings. Those boats cost as much as a house and it helps to have local knowledge so even though we have sailing experience we hired a captain. We did half board, making some easy meals for ourselves and then eating at the anchorages once/day. |

LOL OP we chartered in Croatia. I can't remember the company. Med moorings are tricky, and anchors can detach from the rocky sea bottom. We had a good experience. Would definitely recommend. |

We did in the Virgin Islands through Moorings. We captained ourselves.
My kids are now in college, but we did this when they were 9 and 11. Whenever we talk about vacations they both talk about this as the best vacation we ever took. We would wake up, putter to an island, anchor, have lunch, snorkel or explore the island, very often we were the only people at the islands we would visit, putter to another island usually a somewhat bigger island, anchor or connect to a mooring ball for the night, swim, visit the island, have dinner, etc. |

| Serious question: this seems awesome, but what happens in the case of really bad weather, like a powerful hurricane? are you just stuck on the boat in a storm or do they cancel? |

Hurrinace woudl be cancellation. A thunderstorm you just wait it out, as that doesn't last long. |
