Math Placement Letters APS

When do math placement letters get sent out for rising 6th graders in Arlington?

Last year they went out mid July.

I just saw them show up on parentvue, but mine actually had the placement for last year.

I got a notification on the front screen of ParentVUE that it was available but then when you go into documents it isn’t there.

From the letter on parentvue:

Mathematics placement letters are now available to view in the Documents tab in ParentVUE. The document has a prefix of SY25. PLEASE NOTE: the NAME of the document may not reflect your student's current grade level but the content of the letter contains the correct grade level assignment and math placement.

Also note that not all APS rising middle school students will receive a placement letter. Students already enrolled in high school credit courses or in specialized/support courses will not receive a letter. Please contact your child's middle school if you have questions about your child's math class for the upcoming school year.

Also note, the SOL score included in the Mathematics Placement letter has not yet been certified by the state. Scores which include an asterisk indicate a remote version of the assessment was administered.

Thank you

Thanks for the info. I have a rising 6th grader, and there’s no document about math placement at all yet in parentvue.

I don't have a letter either (rising 7th grader). But when I look on course requests in parentvue it shows which math they're placed in.

I see two math 6 classes for my rising 6th grader (math 6 and pre-algebra). She advanced passed on her math sol and is considered gifted in math so I'm pretty sure that she's in pre-algebra. Has anyone seen the actual letters show up yet?

I was wondering if this was accurate. I guess I'll find out when the letters come out. Does anyone know?

Has anyone heard anything either via mail or on parentvue for rising 6th graders? Our parentvue isn't showing anything.
