Sling bag- do you like them?

Anonymous
Going to Europe next month and want a crossbody style bag and am considering a sling bag. Are they comfortable and do you have a favorite? Call me Goldilocks, belt bags seem to small, and the slings can be quite oversized.

No. Please carry a normal handbag.

P.S. I'm Parisian.

I can't wear them as I am large-chested and they look ridiculous. Try some on and decide for yourself if they are comfortable!

Not large chested, but overweight. They just don't work.

I'd get a shoulder bag with relatively short straps that you can keep close to body.

The Madewell essential crescent sling bag is really comfortable for me. It’s lightweight.

I like belt bags but they sit funny on me due to my chest.

NP:

I'm genuinely confused why a sling bag wouldn't look ridiculous but a normal bag with a crossbody strap would? OP, could you please post an example of a sling bag you are considering and an example of a crossbody bag that you find unflattering?

FWIW, I took a black Hammitt crossbody to Paris similar to the ones below to Paris last year and it worked well and looked nice enough for almost everywhere we went.

I’m happy with my medium sized sling bag for my camera and feminine essentials. I couldn’t care less if others don’t like it.

I like MZ Wallace one.

NP. This is nice! That's because it is a small cross-body bag, a purse.

The sling bags look ridiculous on nearly everyone, esp. in photos. You will think the same looking back on this ugly trend,

OP here. Got the message loud and clear! For the record, I am 5"6", small chested and slim .I prefer the crossbody style, but hoping for a wider (more secure) strap. The quest continues.

I reckon some folks likeah slang bag, some folks likeah them regular bags.

I reckon it depends on how active you gonna be. Them there slang bags are better ifn you gonna be trying to catch a bus or running from something a chasing you. Mhmmm

I just usem the old fanny pack though. If'n you gonna be in public though, you oughter get a hidden belt under your shirt to hide your euros and rubles. Mhmmm Harder for a pickpocket with them.

I'm from Paris too. Why are we sharing our provenance here? It's not relevant. OP can wear whatever she wants. If you like a sling style, you will rock it because it will make you feel great and confidence is what adds that little extra sheen to a person.
