My 6 year old child is ASD level 2, very impulsive but fairly independent with some communication issues. I have been browsing extracurricular activities but am hesitant as to a general class, or adapted one. I see benefits to both. Is there a general "etiquette" as to what I register them for? I.e. can I sign them up for a non-adapted class and let them know? Or sign up for adapted? |
OP here. Title was a big typo- obviously meant to say ASD 2 + "and activities" |
As long as you discuss their support needs, sign them up for whichever you think best (or a combination of both). Then see how it goes and what they enjoy and adjust from there. |
