I'm going to the gyn and nurse prac to get a handle on my UTIs. If you have gone down this road, what are the options to prevent or be prescribed anything? |
Vaginal estrogen is the most effective preventative |
I had recurrent UTIs for years. Even when I didn’t have an active infection, I never felt well, but as though one was on the verge of hitting. Finally, I went to a urologist who gave me some antibiotics to take prophylactically. That was five years ago and I haven’t had a UTI since. |
You can get a prescription for methenamine which is an old school treatment for UTIs. It's also found in lower concentration in AZO preventative treatment pills.
D-Manoose supplements Switch to a thin toilet paper like Scott's. Vaginal estrogen cream like above poster suggested. I would only take antibiotics prophylactically after exhausting all other preventative measures. |
Theracran and estrogen as others have recommended. |
When do you take them? |
cranberry pills
unsweetened cranberry juice if you can stand it |
Keeping your nether regions very clean especially after a poop. Wash with mild soap and water, and then use some coconut oil to moisturize the anal region and the vag area. |
Did not work for me. |
I had this and vaginal estrogen cream turned it all around. Like a miracle. Haven't had that feeling in years now. |
