Pro national team loses to youth team

🇨🇭 The Switzerland women’s national team (ranked 23rd in the world) lost 7-1 in a friendly match against Luzern’s U15 boys team.

Thoughts?

It was a scrimmage. Who cares. (They've apparently also beat other boys teams in the past). Women play men to get better.

What might be really interesting is if they did co-ed teams at high levels like tennis has mixed doubles. That might be fun to watch.

You really want to push this narrative don't you? You're barking up the wrong tree here.

I'm a local referee and one of the assignors was looking for referees to do a U23 girls team vs a U15 boys ECNL team. I think they were both VDA. How did that go? Anyone know?

It’s always iffy.

A national team from a country like Switzerland sometimes is just going to need some warm bodies for a scrimmage to work on some things. You can use older guys - they are better for maintaining control and avoiding injury. But, they can be too fast and too big for working on things. The big risk with using younger players is their potential lack of control. A collision can blow a knee. So you set strict rules.

And, like pretty much every scrimmage you are there to work on things. It’s not a game. It’s a scrimmage. So, you might repeat a game situation 3-4 times to try things out.

My DD’s team just played a boys team same age and whipped up on them. And I mean whipped. Whats your point? What is your narrative? One boys team beat another woman’s team in a scrimmage? One data set does not make a rule. Otherwise my DD’s team spanking a same age boys team in an actual game makes a rule that refutes yours. Grow up. Stop trying to stir outrage to stoke your ego (which is clearly fragile).

I’m surprised it wasn’t worse than that.

The women must be improving

Defeating the chess club does not count

There's a window around u11 where the girls are on average bigger, stronger, and faster. After that, they rapidly become uncompetitive against boys.

Flo Jo's world record for women's 100m is also slower than the record from U15 boys.

I am not sure what point you are trying to make
